Towards Model-Based Assessment of Business-IT Alignment in E-Service Networks from Multiple Perspectives

چکیده

In this paper we align business with IT in a networked setting while introducing innovative e-customs procedures worldwide. We perform the alignment process in a multi-perspective way, guided by concerns of upscaling. As we show in this paper, using an industry-strength case study, effects of upscaling have often impacts on business, like the increase of the number of service consumers, or the emerge of service suppliers who use their core competencies to satisfy an appearing, IT intensive consumer need. Consequently, these impacts cause a change in business-driven requirements that the underlying information system architecture need to accommodate in order to preserve well-aligned constellations of businesses. Besides understanding the technical consequences of upscaling, the articulation of factors that influence stakeholder value is of an importance, too. In this paper we propose a model-based approach using evalue and UML modelling techniques to support the alignment process between business and IT while constantly considering effects of upscaling from multiple perspectives.
